Meet the Owners
What started as a dream to bring immersive entertainment to the Upstate quickly turned into one of South Carolina's most unique family-owned entertainment businesses.
Our Story
Trapped in the Upstate was founded by Bonnie and Mark Lesney with the goal of creating immersive experiences that felt cinematic, memorable, and unlike anything else in the area.
What began with a single location in Greer has grown to three Upstate locations in Greer, Spartanburg, and Inman, along with original escape room experiences, team-building events, birthday parties, fundraisers, and one of the most recognized escape room brands in the area.
Every room is built with story, atmosphere, and immersion in mind, from wholesome family adventures to cinematic horror experiences.

We believe great escape rooms deserve to be preserved. When the opportunity arose to continue the legacy of Great Escapes Inman, we were honored to carry the torch.
While Nowhere To Be Found and Man's Best Friend were created by the original owners, we're excited to build on their strong foundation and gradually bring the Trapped in the Upstate experience to Inman through new technology, thoughtful enhancements, and our own style of storytelling.
Family Owned
From birthday parties and date nights to team-building events and fundraisers, Trapped in the Upstate was designed to be a place where people could connect through shared adventures.
As a family-owned business, the goal has always been to create experiences that feel personal, exciting, and unforgettable. We've had the honor of hosting marriage proposals, baby announcements, bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthdays, and team-building.
